PURPOSE OF CONFERENCE

For 41 years the Professional Turf & Landscape Conference has brought together nationally recognized experts on the maintenance and construction of lawns and landscapes in residential, commercial, school and park settings.  Our educational programs and trade show give professionals a wide range of practical techniques, new equipment and pioneering research on turf, trees, shrubs and integrated pest management.  The Conference is YOUR chance to grow in knowledge, ideas and professionalism.

A new feature of the conference is a special lunch time session explaining the Certified Landscape Technician training and testing program.  Certification is an optional National testing program administered by the New York State Turf & Landscape Association in conjunction with the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET).

A number of our educational programs will prepare participants for sections of the CLT test.

The conference is sponsored by the New York State Turf & Landscape Association in conjunction with Cornell Cooperative Extension.  Please note that opinions expressed by Conference speakers and participants may not necessarily reflect the views of Cornell University, Cornell Cooperative Extension, NYSTLA, or Westchester County Government.

The New York State Turf and Landscape Association is a professional trade organization operating in New York State.  The basic purpose is to promote professionalism in the landscape industry through continual education.  Regular quarterly meetings help to create mutual understanding among professionals which in turn provides unity within the industry.

Cornell Cooperative Extension was organized as an informal educational system and today operates in every county and territory throughout the United States.  It is commonly referred to as the "off-campus" educational arm of the land grant universities and, as the name implies, is a unique cooperative arrangement between a local Cooperative Extension Association, local Government, the State and the United States Department of Agriculture.  Cooperative Extension in New York State provides equal program and employment opportunities.
